Mazipredone

Therapeutic actions:

The active ingredient of Depersolon Mazipridone is a synthetic derivate of prednisolone. Mazipredone belongs to a part of medications called corticosteroids. Anti-inflammatory action of the medication is associated with inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the inflammatory area. Mazipredone disturbs the ability of macrophages to phagocytosis, decreases the production of IL-1, lowers the amount of proteolytic enzymes in the inflammatory area, decreases the permeability of the capillaries, supresses the activity of fibroblasts and collagen formation. Mazipredone also inhibits the activity of phospholipase A2 leading to the suppression of prostoglandins synthesis. Mazipredone also exerts anti-allergic action via lowering the amount of circulating T and B cells, monocytes, eosinophils, basophiles; supresses the production of of antibodies.

Indications:

Depersolon is indicated in the following conditions:
Shock
Severe allergic reactions
Anaphylactic shock
Hepatic coma
Infections associated with infectious diseases
Severe forms of bronchial asthma

Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
Stomach and duodenal ulcers
Itsenko-Cushing syndrome
