Thioctic(lipoic acid) is a compound that participates in the mitochondroal cells metabolism. Lipoic acid works by exerting anti-toxic effect. Lipoic acid protects cells from the free reactive radicals, metabolism's products, haeby metals. Lipoic acid also increases glucose utilization, exerts hepatoprotective action, regulates metabolism and energetic balance of the cells.
Lipoic acid is in the following conditions:
- Prophylaxis and treatment of atherosclerosis
- Prophylaxis and treatment of liver diseases
- Diabetic polyneuropathy
- Intoxications with salts of heavy metal
You should not use the medication in:
- known hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
- pregnancy and lactation
