Berlipril
Product Ingridients:
  • enalapril maleate
Therapeutic actions:

Berlipril contains the active ingredient enalapril maleate. Enalapril belongs to the anti-hypertensive medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or ACE inhibitors. Enalaprilat, derived from enalapril hydrolysis, inhibits ACE and ,thus, lowers the production of angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a biologically active substance that constricts blood vessels and contributes to release of aldosterone from the adrenal cortex. Aldosterone retains sodium and water in the organism and drives blood pressure up. Due to inhibiting ACE, enalapril lowers peripheral resistance, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, preload and afterload on the myocardium.
